  • Even, Jordan

Jordan EvenDirector of Music, Grades 5 and 6 Bible Teacher
MM in Music Performance, Music Theory Cognate at Western Michigan University; BM in Music Performance and Humanities at Valparaiso University, Indiana

For the past fifteen years, I've enjoyed teaching music to kids and adults in a variety of casual and academic settings. Similarly, I've been involved in leading corporate worship my entire life. I greatly enjoy variety in life, and in music. Learning about new things brings me great joy, and while these avocational interests tend to change, they currently include history, political science, economics, business, missiology and repairing things around the house or on the cars.

I also enjoy teaching private studio music lessons and serving as Worship Arts Coordinator for Cypress Chapel. This blend of teaching and making music fills me with joy. When not pursuing music, I enjoy spending time with my wife Stephanie and our daughter Alexandra as well as our friends.

  • Hunt, Michelle

QMichelle HuntUpper School Teacher: Theology, Humanities, Greek
MA of Biblical History and Geography at Jerusalem University College; BA in Christian Ministry at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas

Since my time at Covenant, I have thought several times, “I wish I could retake elementary through high school here!” The excitement, curiosity and joy in learning is a trait that is evident in the faculty and the students at Covenant. There is a “tight-knit family” environment at the school where support towards parents, students and faculty is primary and genuine. Discipleship and maturation in our knowledge of Christ is also at our core as a school. These traits make it a blessing to teach here!

I love traveling and learning/experiencing new cultures. I also love trying new food, hiking (when I can find a mountain), pottery, learning more about the Bible and spending time with family and friends.

  • Morris, Sharee

    Sharee MorrisThird Grade Teacher
BS in Family Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park

I began my career as an event planner in Washington, DC but eventually felt the desire to fulfill my lifelong love of learning by becoming a teacher. Over the course of many years, I have had the pleasure of teaching 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade in public school and Kindergarten through 1st grade to my daughter using a classical homeschooling program. In addition, I enjoyed teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults with Arabic as their first language.

Classical Christian education is the type of education I had always dreamed about my children having; I just didn’t know it existed until doing extensive research.  I have been the Director of Admissions at Covenant for three years, walking alongside families that were discovering classical Christian education for the very first time just like I did. I am returning to the classroom to combine my passion for teaching with my passion for the impact our school is making in the Cypress and northwest Houston community. I am a total geek about reading and find that there is nothing more exciting than watching beginning readers develop a love of words and, eventually, a love of stories. Math is also exciting at this age as numbers become more concrete leading to the awe and beauty of order that waits to be discovered in the world.

I have two children, both in Grammar School here at Covenant. You can usually find me at the pool with my kids, spending time with friends, dreaming of my next adventure in Europe or reading historical fiction. I am also passionate about orphan care and chai tea and cannot live without God’s Word!

I have been teaching in many areas of my life; as a martial arts instructor (over two decades of experience), and as a minister (10 years’ experience). I enjoy teaching subjects that I love, and am especially excited about teaching at Covenant Academy and being a part of this great community.

I enjoy hanging out with my wife, Christina, and our three children on the weekends, reading 19th century Dutch theologians, and working out in my garage gym.

  • Pasquier, Angie

    Angie PasquierKindergarten Teacher
BS in Education (EC-6) at Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, Texas

After graduating from college, I became a teacher in the Cy-Fair and Spring Independent School Districts. I have taught for four years, and have experience in Kindergarten, First and Second grades. The little ones are so fun to work with! I began as a substitute at Covenant in the spring of 2017 and really enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere is so different than what I have witnessed at other schools. Everyone is so friendly and loving, and the teachers, along with the students, really love being at school each day. I feel very blessed and excited to begin a new teaching journey at Covenant Academy.

When I am not teaching, you can bet that I am spending lots of time with my sweet little family! My husband, John, and I have a precious son named Tyler, and a dog named Bella. I also really love doing anything outdoors, spending time with friends, exercising, reading, and baking.

  • Rosier, Corinne

    Corinne RosierFirst Grade Homeroom Teacher
BS in Elementary Education, with honors at Baylor University in Waco, Texas; 2013 Graduate of Providence Classical School in Spring, Texas

I am excited to begin my teaching journey at Covenant Academy! I have always had a passion for learning and have dreamed of becoming a teacher since I was a child. Many excellent teachers throughout my life have poured their love of learning into me and shaped me into the learner that I am today. I am thankful for all of them, and I hope to pass this same love of learning to my students. Teaching in a classical school has been a goal of mine since I began my teacher education courses in college. Having graduated from a classical school, it is easy to appreciate the classical method and all that it offers students. The classroom truly becomes a place to cultivate a love of learning and to witness God’s truth and beauty daily. It will be a joy to guide students as they uncover these truths in the classroom.

I am originally from the Houston area and have recently moved back after completing my degree. I love Houston and I am thrilled to be back in my hometown. When I’m not teaching, you can find me spending time with family, reading, eating at my favorite Mexican restaurants and cheering on the Baylor Bears!

  • Ryan, Jimmie

Jimmie RyanUpper School Teacher: Logic, Humanities
BA in Creative Writing at Texas A&M University; 2007 Graduate of Providence Classical School in Spring, Texas

I began teaching at Covenant in 2014. To be honest, the job kind of fell into my lap. Teaching wasn’t even on my radar, as I was at that time working in the Oil & Gas field while dabbling with some sports writing. Once I got to Covenant, though, I realized what it was like to be fulfilled in my work—something I had never experienced before. What I have perhaps found the most fulfilling are the relationships forged with the students; being able to get to know them on a personal level, and then guide them through all sorts of new concepts and modes of thought has been an absolute blast. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

When I’m not teaching, you can find me at home with my wife, Mary, and our two cats, Pocket and Tumnus, typically watching whatever big sporting event is on that evening.

  • Small, Brad

Brad SmallHigh School Spanish I, Logic School U.S. History and Logic/Rhetoric, P.E. Teacher Grades 4-6
MA of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Grand Canyon University; BS in Secondary Education (History) at University of the Southwest, Hobbs, NM

I began teaching at Covenant in 2014 and I am thrilled by the opportunity to provide a classical Christian education, the type of education that has produced the greatest thinkers mankind has known! In this Information Age, it is crucial to give students the ability to think for themselves, to understand the roots and the branches of those messages. The classical Christian education does just that, building a solid root system in God’s truth, goodness, and beauty and engendering a love of lifelong learning.

I was born in Houston but raised in Ft. Worth and have traveled many places during my time in the United States Navy. I love good food, love to cook and love many outdoor activities. My wife and I have been married over ten years and we have three sons with two at Covenant.

  • Smith, Adrian

    Adrian SmithDirector of Faculty Development
    Director of Student Life
    Upper School Teacher: Humanities
Ph.D. (New Testament) and Th.M. (Old Testament) from Westminster Theological Seminary; B.Sc (Mathematics) from London University.

I have been a teacher for over twenty years because I love to inspire students with my passion for learning. My conviction is that all great stories are allegories of the story of Jesus. I love to express my faith through writing, and through the dramatic performance of Scripture. I hope my classroom is a place where students find their true identity by indwelling God’s big story.

I am married to Dawn, and we have two daughters (one adopted). I am ordained as a minister of the gospel, and regularly fill pulpits as needed.  For relaxation, I enjoy nature walks with my dog, reading children’s literature, listening to classical music, going to the theater, and watching soccer.

  • Szymanowski, Titus

Titus SzymanowskiUpper School Literature and Mathematics Teachers
BA in Religious Studies at Gonzaga University; 2007 Graduate of The Oaks, a Classical Christian School both in Spokane, Washington

I teach because I want to influence students in the same way that my teachers shaped and transformed my life. I love classical Christian education because it teaches students to think for themselves and encourages them to view every aspect of their lives through the lens of a biblical worldview.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but for the past six years I have called Houston home. The community at Covenant brings life and joy to my soul. And my lovely wife, Melissa, and I are daily enriched by our relationships with Covenant families, faculty and students. When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me hanging out with my wife and son, Eli, reading a good book, golfing or watching Seahawks football!

  • Thorpe, Madeline

Madi ThorpeUpper School Latin and History Teacher
BA in History with a minor in Latin at Houston Baptist University

Because of my experience with classical and liberal arts education in high school and college I knew I wanted to teach in a similar environment, one which aims to pursue truth and fosters a love for learning; I am so excited to teach at Covenant. I fell in love with Latin language and literature in college and I hope to share my enthusiasm for the subject with my students.

In my spare time I love to read, explore Houston with friends, and spend time with my family.

  • Walker, Pam

    Pam WalkerSecond Grade Teacher
BSBA in Accounting with a minor in Computer Science at Concord University, Athens, WV

I have been teaching at Covenant Academy since its inception in 2003. Prior to that, I taught at another classical Christian school and homeschooled my own children classically for over seven years. I was drawn towards classical teaching methods during my homeschooling years. The more I learned about the history and methodology of classical education, the more convinced I became that this was the best educational model for my family. It has stood the test of time. I’m so happy to be a part of a school that embodies these same principles.

I love teaching second grade! The students are such eager learners and are on their way to becoming quite independent in their studies. I enjoy teaching all the subjects, but even more, I am passionate about shepherding our children’s hearts to grow in love with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to follow Him whole-heartedly.

I am originally from West Virginia and became a transplanted Texan over 28 years ago. I have four sons (plus a daughter-in-law) and in my spare time I can usually be found with a book, tooling around in my vegetable garden, or working on some home improvement project.

  • White, Lynn

    Lynn WhiteLead Grammar School Teacher
    5-6 Grade Language Arts Teacher
BS in Education with a major in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a minor in Educational Psychology at Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, Texas

I taught public school speech therapy, special education and third grade before coming to Covenant when it opened in 2003. I taught first grade here at Covenant for seven years, and I've been teaching third grade since then. I also homeschooled my oldest two children form 4th and 5th grades through high school.

I left public education years ago because I was burned out and disillusioned with the direction our schools were going. I brought my own two children home and began to teach them academics while training them to love God and walk in His ways. It was a very nurturing relationship that bore sweet fruit in my own life as well as in theirs. Teaching at Covenant allows me to have that same nurturing relationship with families and to support and encourage parents as they train their children to love and follow God. I feel blessed to be a part of Covenant's mission to raise leaders that will change the world.

My husband and I have five children. Our oldest boys are married with children of their own. We have a daughter who is in nursing school at Houston Baptist University. We have a son that graduated from Covenant and studies engineering at the University of Alabama, and our youngest daughter will graduate from Covenant in 2018. We also have four grandchildren.

  • Wierzbicki, Melissa

Melissa WierzbickiUpper School Teacher: Mathematics and Science
MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, BS in Chemical Engineering, and BS in Chemistry at Texas A&M University

After a year as a chemical engineer and four years in radiopharmaceutical research, the Lord called me to this adventure called teaching. I have been teaching for over twelve years. It has been the hardest but the most amazing thing I’ve ever done in my life. My passion is knowing Jesus and making Him known in a world that is desperate for a savior. My greatest desire for each student is to know and love our God and Savior. I long for them to know how completely loved they are and to know the forgiveness, transformation, healing and freedom that are only possible through Christ. God is the Creator, and His image and fingerprint are seen throughout all of creation, including science and math.

My mother and father and their families are from Houston, but I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with friends and family, doing anything outdoors, exercising, reading, and cooking. My favorite food to cook and eat is Mediterranean food!
